We are not trying to call the look for you. We rank the menu: which coverages and fronts are most likely to keep the offense off schedule on this snap. Then we check that ranking against what actually happened.
When you follow the ranking · 3,299 unseen plays
Almost twice as likely to keep them off schedule
Highest-ranked looks kept them off schedule 68% of the time. Lowest-ranked looks: 38%. Follow the ranking, and that is the difference.
Off-schedule rate by rank
We sorted every unseen play into four equal piles by our pre-snap stop ranking. Bars show how often the offense actually stayed off schedule. League average on these snaps is 54.4%. The ranking itself still beats a coin flip (63.6%) — that is the method check, not the claim.
True stop · unfavorable
This is not "they failed to convert." A true stop is yards below the snap's unfavorable floor — a loss that puts them behind the sticks. Those snaps are rare (15.4% of the holdout). When we liked the look, they happened a lot more often.
Off schedule by down
Same ranking, split by down. On 3rd down the highest-ranked looks kept them off schedule 75% of the time versus 27% for the lowest-ranked. That is the only down we lead with.
4th down (65 plays): 31% → 82%. Too few snaps to lead with.
